Why Raising the Minimum Wage Is So Important

February 9, 2014

The new issue that our president is dealing with is the minimum wage. For all Federal contractors we will soon have a new executive order that states they will be paid $10.10 an hour guaranteed, their new minimum wage to give them livable wages.

Let’s look at this closely folks. Currently in all of America only 3.55 million individuals earn minimum wage according to the non partisan Congressional Budget Office (CBO) report and Pew Research Center.

If you look at these numbers one would have to ask why address this issue now? Bureau of Labor released data stating federal employees on average making $114,436.00 or approximately $27,000.00 more than the private sector, could this issue be smoke and mirrors to hide some facet of this administrations agenda?

It is interesting our borders have not been secured, Gitmo is still open for business and as stated for 7 years now, “this will be the most transparent administration ever” and the State Department is under intense scrutiny for falsely stating the reason 4 brave Americans died in Benghazi with Hillary Clinton at the helm.

The IRS scandal, where the director pleaded the fifth and during an interview with The Factor once again our president didn’t see anything wrong with Lois targeting Tea Party Conservative groups. Hearing after hearing for a year now and no one is being held accountable for these actions.

One has to wonder why raising the minimum wage is so important it is now at the top of President Obama’s agenda with all that has transpired in his administration over the past 5 years. It definitely is not because too many contractors are starving on minimum wage earnings.
