Nevada will be huge for the upcoming election

November 1, 2012
With 6 electoral college votes Nevada will be key in the results of the November 6th ballot picking the next President of these United States.  Who has the advantage, Mitt or Barack? With over 119 thousand more democratic registered voters in the state Barack has the advantage on paper.

Will that advantage result in a win for his campaign? Not likely as Nevadans remember how this President devastated our cities and our state when he went on air not once but twice to inform the nation they shouldn’t go “to Vegas” in these tough economic times spending “college” funds.

Our economy suffered worst then any state in the Union with high unemployment, high foreclosure rates and a drop in tourism due to the words spewed from the Presidents mouth.  Many of those who voted for him in 2008 have expressed sorrow as they realize the hype was better than the word.

With only 37% of the promises made on the campaign trail held to date, the road in Nevada will be a tough fight.  We remember how he stated just a few short years ago he would reduce the national debt by 50% because it was “unpatriotic” to increase the debt by 4 trillion as George Bush had done.  Well, with 6 trillion added to the debt since taking office Obama has failed on delivering that promise.

Candidate Obama also promised in his first year he would sign into law immigration reform because the cost was to exorbitant for any state to continue to fund. Well not only didn’t he pass any legislation but he never even offered any to the Congress which by the way was democratic for the first two years.

There are a host of other promises made and broken, too many to list here. So in these closing days as both candidates talk about how they would handle the office once elected the stories are vastly different. One candidate wants four more years to finish what he stated.  While the other wants four years to fix the mess that has oven taken our nation.

Come November 6th, 2012 be sure to exercise your God-given right and vote for the candidate of your choice.  We as a nation are guaranteed basic freedoms and rights under our Constitution that no other nation in the world has. Let’s not lose them.

Anxiously awaiting the results

October 27, 2012

Like a trip to the doctors, this election has everyone on pins and needles.  The blood has been drawn and the doctor informs us they will call as soon as the test come back from the lab possibly a week to ten days.

As we anxiously wait for the results we wonder if everything will be alright. We worry that something is wrong, a constant fear as we are not doctors but we know deep down inside there is terrible news to come.

That is November 6th, the day of reckoning, as we get the call on who will lead this, the greatest nation in the world for the next four years.   Will we have more of the same or will we have a new look toward the future? Right now no one can say specifically till the test results come in.

According to the current President he needs more time to implement his plan, those promises that he hasn’t lived up too.  He needs us to believe in the “Hope and Change” he promised while campaigning for his first term.  Immigration reform in the first year,  50% reduction in the deficit because it was “unpatriotic” to increase our national debt by 4 trillion dollars as George Bush did as or 43rd President.

On the other hand, Mitt Romney has traveled the country to inform the voters, “we don’t have to settle for years of disappointment and decline.”   The former Governor has been traveling across the nation with his VP pick Paul Ryan insisting the President hasn’t been paying attention to the will of the people.

Soon the doctor will call us with the results.  For some the findings will cause elation as nothing appears to be wrong.  For others there will be devastation as the paperwork causes the heart to drop to the floor knowing their time is limited.  No exercise routine can help them, no change in diet will relieve them, no words will be able to console them.

November 6th will be the day we remember as the day that changed our lives forever. So remember to have your voices heard and vote. Regardless of your party, political affiliation or ideology, vote as it is your God-given right and your patriotic duty in this, the greatest nation on Earth.

Ann Romney speaks out

April 25, 2012

Tonight Ann Romney talked with audience members in New Hampshire as the results of the primaries came in with her husband sweeping all five states. She spoke with a passion as if she and the audience were at a kitchen table or sitting on a couch in some ones living room.

With a smile from ear to ear, Ann began with “WOW” continuing with “it’s good to be back here” as the crowd roared at every word spoken.  She told the story why the Romney family set out just over a year ago talking about this campaign in their living room stating “and I was hesitant” knowing they went through a tough primary four years ago.

Mrs. Romney standing at the podium with the message across the front “A Better America Begins Tonight” she told the room full of supporters she was emphatic that would be the last Presidential Campaign they would be involved in. She spoke at the Radisson Hotel in Downtown Manchester nervous at moments as her message was sent out.

With watery eyes Ann told the crowd she was reminded by her husband of 43 years that “I said that after every pregnancy”.  Ann continued “but I knew our country was in real trouble, I knew our country needed real leadership to turn these things around so I asked Mitt one simple question, can you fix it?  He said yes and that’s all I needed to know. I said, I said if you can fix it, we need to do this.”

As she introduced her husband Mitt Romney the crowd went wild with enthusiasm, cheering and clapping as he walked up to the microphone to thank all those who help win these primaries. As he spoke he half heartedly smiled as is his pattern thanking not only those who voted but he went on “and tonight I can also say, thank you America, because after 43 primaries and caucuses, many long days and more than a few long nights I can say with confidence and gratitude that you have given me a great honor and solemn responsibility and together we are going to win on November 6th.”

Mitt talked about the weak leadership in this nation. He talked about the “mom and dad” on food stamps for the first time in their lives. He talked about business owners who had to cut back in order to keep their doors open.  His message to America is this “hold on a little longer, a better America begins tonight”.

Above the crowds yells and screams “go Mitt go”, he continued “the last few years have been the best that Barack Obama could do, but it is not the best America can do. Tonight is the beginning of the end of the disappointments of the Obama years and it’s the start of the new and better chapter we will write together.”

Many citizens may not agree Mitt can fix this country, however after three years of the promises from Obama many individuals are worst off today then they were when he took office.  Under the Obama administration our debt has risen, our unemployment has risen, our foreclosure rate has risen and our chances to advance at our workplace has diminished.

The issues we face today are far greater than the ones from four years ago.The message from the Republican establishment is simple, Mitt is the man.  From others outside the beltway the message from conservatives is, vote for anyone but Obama.  Will Americans rally behind Mitt or will they remain split and campaign for the candidate they believe in such as Newt Gingrich or Ron Paul?”

This election is about freedom and a less intrusive government. This election is about doing what is right for the country once again. Can Mitt fix it, if elected we hope so.

What Did You Say?

May 2, 2011

What did you say?  Did I hear you right, Osama Bin Laden is dead? Wow it has been a long time coming to hear those words as our President talked to the world about how Bin Laden expired as the Navy Seals took him out.

You realize the conspiracy theories are spewing as we wake up to our morning coffee and click on the news reports of the day.  The right-wing will be asking why the body was dumped at sea so quickly without anyone laying eyes on the deceased Bin Laden.  The rumor of the day will be we killed an impostor and those powerful men around the world are meeting together to finally finish what they have started.

On the left we will hear how it only took President Obama 2 and 1/2 years to send the troops in to get the man behind the twin tower disaster.  Those same individuals will have the election over and done with regardless of the polls which gage the sentiment of those voters who will have their voices heard in the next election. Accordingly every newscast will project Obama as a shoe in now regardless of what happens in this country, citing  his leadership on this matter.

What we really need to be looking out for is the attacks on American citizens both here and abroad.  Those who hate us will retaliate with vengeance unlike what we have witnessed in the past.  Those who hate us will find ways to infiltrate our borders which are mostly unsecure as I type this blog.  Thousands of miles of our borders are wide open. Anyone can come across with guns, bombs and any other item they feel like bringing into this country and at the present time we can not stop all of them.

I hope we as a nation will stay vigilant in our quest to remain the free country that we are and have been for over 250 years.  I hope our leaders will not surrender their constitutional duties as we travel through these new streets of justice in our country.

Remember our nation is one that has endured many trials and tribulations. We have withstood a revolution, a civil war, discrimination and assassinations of our Presidents.  We have been to space, we have invented many devices and found cures for many diseases. We are a strong and powerful nation here for one purpose and one purpose only, To be free unlike all other countries in this world. Let’s remain that way!

Anyone Is Better Than What We Have Now!

April 12, 2011

Yes folks, “Anyone is better than what we have now”  is the response I am receiving from individuals all across this great land we call America. With the 2012 election cycle moving into gear many individuals are dissatisfied with the President and his policies.

Since Obama has been elected our country has spiraled out of control with expansive increases in government spending, the apology tour and the continuation of wars in the Middle East of which he campaign to stop the wars over there not extenuate them with complacency.

Remember he received a Noble Peace Prize for his prolific thoughts on a war free world or just the fact that those on the panel that hands out these prizes hated Bush so much they just wanted to show him a thing or two about just how powerful they were. Thus a million dollar bounty just for thinking about peace.

Now two years later we have amassed 5 trillion more dollars in debt with a 4 trillion-dollar budget being proposed by the White House.  I don’t want to beat this thing to death but I have to say we borrow 43 cents out of every dollar we spend so the individuals across the country want someone new that will reduce the spending and size of the bureaucracy.

We Did It!

April 4, 2011

Today President Obama announced he will seek re-election for the highest office in the land.  He will be informing those interested that not only had his slogan “Yes We Can” worked but he now can say “Yes, We Did It!”  without fear of anyone in the media or private sector disputing the facts as set in history.

He can say unemployment was at 5.7%  when he took office and is now at 9.8%.

He can say housing market is at an all time high concerning the foreclosure market where in some locations 64% of homes are upside down with up to 60% drop in values.

He can say he passed the health care bill which is the most sweeping legislation to pass into law since the great depression.

All these feats have been accomplished and now I have to ask what will his new slogan be,  “We Can Do More just give me another chance”.   The President can say “We Did It” but the questions we should be asking is what will the cost to the citizens be in the long run?  With 5 trillion dollars added to the national debt since he took office along with  a  2 trillion-dollar budget planned for the fiscal year 2011 when do we hold him accountable for all he has done for our nation. As I see it, seems like everyone but lobbyists and campaign contributors have suffered under his presidency.

This Day We Will Remember

November 2, 2010

Okay we talked about this day for the past year now and it is finally upon us, the mid-term elections.   With these elections all across the country we will either make history or be history. This day we will remember as we remember our nations past struggles.

Today I was engaged in a discussion about the condition of our nation. The individual stated that had we done nothing we would be far worst off than we are now speaking about the 787 billion dollar bailout money.  The discussion went on for 2o minutes about what transpired within Obama’s administration as he took over an economy that was losing 700 thousand jobs a month. Bailing out private companies that were ill managed and skimming off profits to pay millions in bonuses.

My argument was this: Had we taken half or three-quarters of that stimulus money and distributed it to the tax payers of this country instead of those businesses that were “Too big to fail” we would have alleviated the deep recession we are now in.

If each tax paying citizen of the nation would have received 200 thousand dollars in stimulus money I assure you they would have saved their homes, bought new cars and or replace furnishings  within days of receiving the check from our well oiled government.

I am not saying I agree with the government handing out money to anyone or anything, however since they were going to spend that money the taxpaying citizens should have received it so they could spend it how they deemed fit.

Most everyone I talked with about this proposal said they would have paid off their home and replaced their car with a new one that got better gas mileage. One one individual said they would hide the money and let their home be foreclosed on.

This of course didn’t happen because the tax paying citizens didn’t donate millions of dollars to the Obama campaign so he couldn’t just give it up to common everyday folks like you and I.  No, he had to arrange for SEIU and other entities that were close to him and his campaign to receive the billions of dollars in tarp money.

Now we have a chance to have our voices heard once again.  A vote that is a referendum on the direction our country travels.  Do we continue down the path that has eroded the quality of life here in America of every citizen who lives here?  Or, do we stand up and finally vote for those individuals that are not corrupted by the political parties as of yet with hopes they will remain true to their word to us.

This vote will be the change that many American’s so desperately are looking for. Not the change you can believe in rhetoric spewed out during the last campaign cycle.  The change will be for the people of this great nation to stand tall and request their representatives work for them.

Make sure you get out to vote and have your voice heard.
