I have seen articles these past few days concerning individuals around the world who felt suicide was the only cure for what ailed them. Smiling depression seems to be one of the causes of the untimely deaths of a few of these individuals.
My daughter told me about this common, but yet seemingly unheard of depression that is much more common than you would imagine. According to statistics she informed me 73% of the people in America suffer from this depression.
As many parents have stated in their twitter accounts and blogs, be nice to those around you and hug the ones you love so they feel they have value and worth as a human being. When you suffer, you usually suffer alone. Not wanting to trouble others with your problems, or insecurities.
You are not alone. Talk with your family, talk with your friends, talk with someone wherever you may be, it \could save your life and help you to understand that there are many great opportunities ahead.
We all have been through some type of depression in our lives. Smiling depression appears to be the most common as no one can read behind the joy, happiness and exuberance for life projected until the final breath comes on this Earth. Reality hits and many say, “I never saw it coming”. There is resources to help any loved one by going to websites or calling. I have listen one below that has access nationwide 24/7.

Often people are afraid to go after it is they really want to do in life. Whether the fear comes from internal frustration or external rejection we all have to deal with the truth of where we are.
When there are goals or dreams involved don’t let anyone stop you from achieving what you desire in your life. Many will tell you, you’re to small, to tall, you talk funny, you’re not smart enough and the list goes on and on but don’t let those people suppress the accomplishments you feel a drive for. Remember it’s your dream, live it.
No one can stop you from accomplishing anything in life but you. So go after what you want, need desire and never give up because of others. It’s okay to change goals after you find out they are not really what you want, or you have new visions toward a new destiny. Just never stop believing in yourself, go live your dream.

I have been off Patriot Express the past 2 years as my mother has Alzheimer’s and is staying with me. It was my decision to spend the time with her while she still had the wherewithal to understand and enjoy the moments shared with family and friends.
We have been working to understand the issues associated with the disease which has been passed down to the women on her side for the last 3 generations. She always was concerned that the girls would end up with the Alzheimer defect and wished they would come up with a cure so no one else would have to struggle as she and many others do.
Ma is doing well considering what we will experience in the near future as the disease continues to erode the quality of life she once knew. Her humor is still intact even though she can not remember what she said or what happened seconds ago.
Each day we try to log something on video to document the good with the not so good. For an 80 something year old she doesn’t complain about much.
Now I am going to attempt to bring back the Patriot Express Radio network which was put together to bring truth to the issues we deem important. I look forward to the next adventure with great anticipation.
