Iowa and our future

January 11, 2016

Sorry to say I haven’t been here blogging lately as there have been medical issues with my family. Working all issues out and will be back posting information about the Iowa caucus and the others in the pipe.

As we stated on Patriot Express Radio more than 6 years ago these next few elections are critical. The results will bring our nation back to logical and responsible leadership agenda turning back the PC police.

Or, we will continue down the path that we have traveled over the past 80 years and continue to erode the quality of life in America for every citizen with the egregious spending habits of those elected to represent our best interest.

With 19 trillion dollars in Federal debt plus over 122 trillion in unfunded mandates we definitely need new ideas and leadership roaming the Halls of Congress as well as 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue.

Our nation will be destroyed in the next few decades if we do not curtail our out of control spending, our entitlement mentality and our nations dumbing down of it’s citizens all in the name of power.

Be vigilant how you vote. Know your candidates and ask the important questions which are relevant to you. We need help.

State of the Union Speech 2012

January 25, 2012

This year the speech started with a huge round of applause from both sides of the aisle as Representative Giffords name was called out. The applause lasted for several minutes as members showed admiration for her strength and courage as she fights back from a near fatal shooting at one of her campaign rallies last year.

The President started with a soft “Thank you” as he received several minutes of recognition clapping and cheering his arrival. Speaker Boehner introduced the President as all others have in the past.  He stated last month he greeted many soldiers as they returned from war zones across the ocean signifying the end of the wars.

“For the first time in 9 years there are no American’s fighting in Iraq.” He continued stating the achievements of our military personal and extended a thought “Imagine what we could accomplish if we” worked like them.  He discussed how hard work pays off in any economy.  He talked about his relatives who were part of the America success story during the greatest days of this nation.

He discussed how everyone needs to get a shot and a fair shake and plays by the same set of rules. “What’s at stake are not Democrat values, Republican values, but American values.”  Hard working Americans struggled as the top members of organizations prospered with huge bonuses and payroll. “It was wrong” our President stated.

“In the last twenty-two months businesses have created more than 3 million jobs.” American manufacturers are hiring once again and his administration has placed in effect new rules so the greed of those CEO’s will never bring about another economic crisis again. He goes on to lay out a blue print for the future of America.

It beings with “American Manufacturing” and having the strength to set standards to help those businesses that were nearly bankrupt just a few years ago. “We bet on American Workers” and now the industry is back  because of the policies he initiated. A few weeks ago the President stated the CEO of Masterlock told him it makes sense to bring jobs back home now and they are at full capacity for the first time since 2005.

The President segued into the tax codes and policies for companies that outsource jobs. He also mentioned no company should have less of a tax burden for relocating out of the country. Business need to be rewarded for remaining here in the United States and those who leave must pay higher taxes.

Competitors must play by the rules and his administration has helped stop China and other nations from cheating the system. Tonight the President announced his plan to bring on a new agency that will monitor foreign countries and the products they ship into our country.  This ” Trade Enforcement Unit”  will inspect for counterfeit products being imported to level the playing field.

President Obama talked about our Education system and how we as a Nation must increase resources to keep the best teachers on the job and teach to learn not to test. He went on to say we need to get rid of those instructors who are not fit to teach the students. The President went on to insist every state keep students in school through graduation or until 18 without the ability to dropout.

Student aid was addressed next by insisting higher education do their part to keep costs down. Higher is an “economic imperative” that every American deserves to have.  “I believe as strongly as ever we need to take on illegal immigration”.  “We need comprehensive immigration reform right now.”   At this point he received a huge round of applause as he continued to address this issue.

“Women should earn equal pay for equal work” in our economy. Every individual should be supported for innovation and inventiveness. He now wants to tear down regulations that create problems for entrepreneurs. The President wants a bill on his desk so he can sign it.  American made energy is where our future is and according to the President we need to open more land to increase production and develop “Every available source of energy” with government help where needed.

Clean energy is the energy of the future. The President will not stop working towards this sector of energy regardless of the feelings of America.  He wants to give incentives to businesses to stop wasteful use of energy and subsidies for building the clean energy future.

Next, with the money we no longer a spending on war he wants to take half and pay down our debt and the other half to rebuild the infrastructure of our country.  This will create jobs for all Americans.

With the housing crisis the President wants to offer lower interest loans to homeowners in need. No more irresponsible behavior, rules will be enacted to prevent the problems elevated in the mortgage industry that created this crisis. He wants to take away incentives that make the playing field advantageous for one member of society and not another.

Anti-fraud laws will be adhered to and he wants new and sweeping legislation passed holding business entities accountable for fraudulent activity against society.  No longer should predatory lending practices be condoned.

Our tax policies need reform so millionaires and billionaires pay their fair share of taxes. 25% of millionaires pay less taxes than a million middle class members of this society. Those struggling in this economy do not need increases, they need relief.  Those fortunate enough to make millions should pay their fair share, that is all the President is asking. With this tax policy we can reduce our deficit according to President Obama.

Finally the President stated none of these issues can be worked on unless both parties work together to do what is good for the people and not just those in Congress or any other Federal employee.  The government needs to be reduced in size and the President wants freedom from Congress to enact these sweeping reforms without having Congress meddling.

“America is back” is the message from leaders from all around the world. As President, Obama intends to continue to work with all nations helping to secure our country and those of our allies.  Our armed Force Members are to be taken care of better than they had been in the past. As President funding for military has increased each year and will continue to do so as those members serve our Nation.

This was a much different State of the Union speech than any of his previous ones.  The President offered solutions, addressing the problems facing America today.  This was a Clinton moment as he moved away from his far left visions for this nation and came to the middle.

Many of the problems we have are because Congress is broken and both parties continually vote on issues good for their personal agenda or that of campaign contributors.  The United States can succeed with citizens working together with their representatives to pass legislation that is good for the Nation. This was one of the Presidents better speeches due to the fact he finally stopped placing blame on everyone but him for the State of the Union.

What he failed to mention was the trillions of dollars spent that we don’t have. What he failed to mention was the fact Congress and Harry Reid have not passed a budget in 1000 days which is required by law.  What he failed to mention was how we were going to pay for all these new and exciting programs to help lead us down this path of productivity.

Anyone Is Better Than What We Have Now!

April 12, 2011

Yes folks, “Anyone is better than what we have now”  is the response I am receiving from individuals all across this great land we call America. With the 2012 election cycle moving into gear many individuals are dissatisfied with the President and his policies.

Since Obama has been elected our country has spiraled out of control with expansive increases in government spending, the apology tour and the continuation of wars in the Middle East of which he campaign to stop the wars over there not extenuate them with complacency.

Remember he received a Noble Peace Prize for his prolific thoughts on a war free world or just the fact that those on the panel that hands out these prizes hated Bush so much they just wanted to show him a thing or two about just how powerful they were. Thus a million dollar bounty just for thinking about peace.

Now two years later we have amassed 5 trillion more dollars in debt with a 4 trillion-dollar budget being proposed by the White House.  I don’t want to beat this thing to death but I have to say we borrow 43 cents out of every dollar we spend so the individuals across the country want someone new that will reduce the spending and size of the bureaucracy.

We Will Cut The Budget!

April 11, 2011

Late Friday night both sides of the political spectrum agreed to a resolution that would keep our government operating without fear of a shut down.  Both sides emphasized “We will cut the budget.” to gain support from their base.

The problem is the cuts do not go deep enough to reduce the massive debt our nation carries currently.  These cuts are a mere 36 billion dollars. Not much of a cut with the national debt looming at 14.3 trillion dollars. With these cuts Congress actually just stopped borrowing money for 9 days, that’s all.

Our nation currently borrows 4 billion dollars a day to keep this country afloat. China, Japan, and a host of other investors buy up our treasury notes put on the market daily for our government to continue to spend money on projects that we don’t have.

How can a nation sustain sovereignty if it continually spends more than it takes in? The bottom line is it can’t. How can a nation tell its citizens spending 5 trillion dollars a year is good for the economy and the nation with a straight face? Economics 101 tells us you can not borrow money to spend your way out of debt, it is impossible.

In order to return our country to fiscal sanity we must as a nation pay down our debt. Our elected officials must start working on solutions to the spending habits in the Halls of Congress instead of continuing to spend what they do not have. We need leadership in Washington, those who will make the tough choices regardless of how it will affect their re-election campaigns.

3.7 Trillion Budget

February 15, 2011

Today the President released his 2012 budget an amazing 3.7 trillion dollars. During his state of the Union speech he stated he understood the country had a spending problem and in the words of Representative Frank Guinta, ‘This may be Valentine’s Day, but the $3.73T #budget proposal by #POTUS is no love letter to the American people!”

We are in a severe recession and still the President can not understand you can not spend more of what you don’t have to bring about prosperity to a nation. He has proposed an increase in taxation over the next ten years to raise an additional 1.6 trillion dollars over the next 10 years. CNN stated the President has two choices that will address the problems we face, “He can fix it or ignore it” In the piece they decided he has ignored it. http://bit.ly/fHL7Mh

The budget will drop to 1.2 trillion next year but will balloon to 104% of GDP by 2015. This is not the way to stimulate an economy that is bloated and in need of reduction.  Congress has stated they will cut the budget by 100 billion, a mere 2% of the budget when we need to look at cuts across the board by no less than 500 billion each and every year until we contain the uncontrolled spending that has eroded the quality of life for all Americans.

The CBO estimates there is 10% fraud and waste in every government program which is not being address as of yet on the Hill. Every member knows about the problem but no solutions are being presented to reel in the corruption.  Patriot Express Radio  has offered a solution that would help alleviate the problem.  Quite simple pass a law that makes it a mandatory 10 year prison sentence for any individual or corporation that commits acts of fraud when dealing with any government agency.  If an individual knows when they decide to steal our tax dollars by submitting fraudulent bills will land them in jail for 10 years many of those individuals would not attempt these deceitful practices.

Second, we must hold those accountable in Congress when appropriating funds. The funding must have a paper trail just as businesses have to track where the money is going and how it is being spent. The funds must not be sent out in bulk but released in segments to the receiving parties. When the parties show how the funds released to them were spent then they receive the next allocation until all criteria has been met.

We the People are tired of our tax dollars being wasted and are now monitoring how our government is spending them.  The Congress have to fulfill their promises made on the campaign trail to reduce the nation debt and the size of the Federal Government. They must understand trillion-dollar deficits are no longer going to be tolerated here in America. So get out the pencils and start cutting to save our nation and give future generations of children a country they can be proud to be a citizen of that is working to be fiscally responsible from here on in.

Compromise Would Surely Help The Situation!

December 9, 2010

Here we go again, those folks in DC. are at it again.  President Obama extends tax cuts for 2 years because Republicans were holding the American people hostage.   His words not mine, hostage.  I applaud the fact he extended the infamous olive branch to work on a deal that will keep the government functioning through the lame duck session.

However, it appears as if the ultra liberals are furious with his decision. All day on the news they bashed him  as too weak,  no backbone, caving in to the rich, and not the President we elected that was going to raise taxes on the rich.  He has divided his base once again and why?  He made concessions to try to do the right thing.

As we have stated numerously on the Patriot Express Radio show “we don’t need more taxes, we need less spending.” ” We need a government that will work to cut the fraud and waste in every entity of our bureaucracies across the nation.”  Stop the waste and we reign in the uncontrolled deficit spending.

I was talking to a retired military pilot today who said he once believed in the balanced budget amendment but now he is against it. He wants to have the military a separate budget so they get the funding they need without cuts that will weaken our defense.  I asked him how long he served for a barometer of the depth of knowledge he had on military spending.

He was a fighter pilot for 23 years. I asked if he saw any fraud or waste in his 23 years there?  He stated he saw the 500 dollar hammers and the waste. As a matter of fact he stated “I was told to take my jet out for a four-hour flight anywhere with a tanker following me on several occasion. ”

I stated I have friends that were in Viet Nam where every month new supplies would be flown in only to be placed in the middle of a field to be blown away by a few explosives from the tanks on base. This happened and is still happening today so the military doesn’t loss their budget.

The conversation went on and I explained on paper that approach looked good but the problem is the military has to spend the funds appropriated each budget or they lose it the next time around. We need to make sure the budget is never cut even when a surplus exists at the end of the fiscal year.  The military protects our borders and we need the strongest and the best with no compromising on their needs.

The issue isn’t increasing our taxes to pay for things our Representatives want, the issue is to cut the fraud and waste so we spend our tax dollars wisely as a CEO of any business would or should be doing to spend what they need and ultimately make a profit.  Our Congress spends the money then taxes the individuals and Corporations without having strict guidelines or rules on how to spend the money more efficiently.

We can balance the budget without raising taxes if the American Citizens would go to the polls and vote for individuals that will represent their wishes and not those of special interest. Remember your vote counts each election.  By not voting you’re allowing those in power to remain in power. We can do better.
