After all the recent demonstrations across the country I have to ask, what happened to taking personal responsibility for our actions? We as a nation have continually elected individuals to serve as public servants who continue to take this country off the deep end of which we will soon be at the point of no return.
Our nation just went over 18 trillion in debt. Our president wants 263 billion as a response to what took place in Ferguson as looters and rioters destroyed the city. Yes, camera’s on police will stop all the violence in this nation. Sure we have a few individuals in uniform who may push the envelop of power but when citizens resist a command from a uniformed officer and becomes combatant, where is the accountability for their actions.
Each day our police and military personal dress in their uniforms to protect the American people with the knowledge they may take their last breath at anytime during their daily routine. That is the price they may have to pay for protecting our freedoms which we value so deeply.
Why are individuals allowed to disrespect those in uniform by resisting a command to cease and desist in the activity they are engaged in, then when something bad happens we do not hold those individuals accountable for their actions? Obey the command, listen to the request and after all is said and done if you don’t like the treatment or the outcome of the situation file a complaint and/or hire a lawyer to resolve the issue at hand.
Death is a terrible thing when it is unexpected, we feel for the families that have lost loved ones through no fault of their own. Death by the hand of another individual is devastating for all families involved premeditated or not.
Tragedy can be averted in many cases if individuals respected their lives more then their hatred of the law. Peaceful protesting is the American way to help spread the message in a responsible way not looting and rioting, burning down a city to make a point. No one wins there.

We start another week with Washington at a stand still concerning the debt limit negotiations between the two parties. Interestingly on Sundays talk shows both sides talked about what they want to do. Speaker Boehner still wants a plan that holds the lines of the “Cap, Cut and Balance Act” that wasn’t ever put on the floor of the Senate for a vote. Treasury Secretary Geithner believes we are on the right path creating jobs, building the economy and spending dollars needed to keep the country prosperous.
The challenge ahead is not which side gets what they want in these discussions, the challenge ahead is which side gets a sound fiscal policy that will rebuild our nation by cutting the out of control spending and reining in the fraud and waste that created this monstrosity of a debt which is bankrupting our nation and eroding the quality of life for every citizen in the nation.
With a 14.5 trillion dollar national debt hanging over each taxpaying citizen along with 115 trillion dollars in unfunded mandates, which by the way our Congress have no plans in place to pay any of the debt down. Their plans each year are to spend more so they can give those special interest groups what they want just so they can get re-elected.
Mind you not all individuals in Washington or across the nation are all about their re-elections or personal agendas, some actually want to do what is right for America. Recently several members have shown were they stand as they attempt to work for the people who elected them and do what is right for the nation and not just their political careers.
Our time-table is a short one if we are to remain the greatest nation in the World. What our elected officials need to be working on is simple, the message is clear, “Stop spending what you don’t have!” Release a budget that is balanced with no new debt attached to it.
Our Congress, those the American People elected to work for them are in Congress now for over 815 days without passing a budget. Do you know of any business that can operate without having a budget in place as they strive to maintain a viable business? Not one comes to mind as business CEO’s realize in order to make money there has to be more revenue than expenses, as a matter of fact a 14-year-old can grasp that concept.
So, Congress roll up your sleeves and continue to work together to finally do what is right for the country you took an oath to abide by the Constitution to protect and serve. The American People expect no less.

On the floor in the House today both sides discussed amendments to the Neighborhood Stabilization Program which the Republicans want to defund and save taxpayers 1 billion dollars of the 7 billion dollar program. Sides are passionately debating what should be done with the billion dollars that are left in the program thus far unspent. To the Democrats and Republicans alike elected by the people, ARE YOU LISTENING!
We are a bankrupt nation do you not remember! We continue to borrow 43 cents out of every dollar spent in the Halls of Congress. We now are over 12 trillion dollars in debt with just under 2 trillion this past year. Finally we have over 112 trillion, that is 11.2 billion billion dollars in unfunded mandates which are or will be due within the next ten years. Congress ARE YOU LISTENING!
Stop spending what you don’t have! Balance the budget and spend only what you need to spend. The times are hard and we as a nation need leaders how understand entitlements are not part of our Constitution. We can not continue to fund programs that do not perform functions relegated by our Constitution.
If there is blight in neighborhoods let the local, county or city government handle the problem. The Federal Government does not need to buy these properties nor offer money to others to buy them. WE are a broke nation, let’s act like one and do what is finally right for the citizens and the States. Congress, ARE YOU LISTENING!
